Hello, world!

Why I finally built a site of my own — and what comes next.

Having my own website had been on my mind for a long time — it just was never quite the right moment. With a few recent projects — Mar-Alto, which started as a simple voting app for the Carnaval da Nazaré and grew into a full ticketing and booking platform, and O Meu Dia — I felt it was finally time to build it.

This website brings together what used to be scattered across LinkedIn and GitHub: my background, my portfolio, and a way to showcase and offer my services to people and businesses in the region who need a digital presence. It’s also, in a way, proof of what I do — I built it with the same care I put into anything I deliver to the people who hire me.

In my full-time job as a software engineer, I work on critical systems at serious scale — that’s where I learn most of what I know. These personal projects are where I get to experiment with new technology more freely, without the pressure of production; O Meu Dia, in particular, I’m lucky to build alongside my wife. This space, the blog, is different: it’s mostly personal, somewhere to write and share experiences.

More is coming — about engineering, about project decisions, and about more personal things too. If you have a question or a suggestion, reach out — my contact is right there.
