Services

I'm a software engineer, not an agency or a design studio. What I do solves concrete business problems with engineering: websites, custom applications and integrations between systems. I work on this alongside my full-time job, so I take on a limited number of projects at a time — and I keep the timelines I give.

Websites

A website is often the first contact someone has with a business, before they call or show up in person.

How I can help

If you don't have an online presence yet, or your site is outdated, I'll build you a proper, fast digital showcase — no unnecessary complexity, ready for local businesses like retail, restaurants or lodging.

What I deliver

  • Responsive design, built mobile-first
  • Search engine optimization
  • Clear contact information or a contact form
  • Hosting and domain set up
  • Static site, no database to manage — low maintenance

This list is what I typically deliver — it's not a fixed package. The exact scope of your project gets aligned in the first conversation, based on what you actually need.

Real example

O Meu Dia is a website I built — a digital invitations studio for weddings and christenings, live at omeudia.pt.

This is the public showcase guests see — fast, no friction. What organisers manage behind it (RSVPs, the album) already crosses into Application territory.

Applications

When a website isn't enough — when you need to manage bookings, user accounts, payments or a process specific to your business — I build custom applications.

How I can help

If you have your own process — bookings, ticketing, member or customer management — that an off-the-shelf tool doesn't fit, or that costs you in recurring fees you don't control, I'll build a custom application for your business.

What I deliver

  • Requirements gathering based on the real process, not a wish list
  • Architecture designed for low maintenance — no servers to manage by hand
  • Development with automated tests, so the system holds up under real usage spikes
  • A backoffice simple enough to operate without technical knowledge
  • Training so your team can use the system independently

This list is what I typically deliver — it's not a fixed package. The exact scope of your project gets aligned in the first conversation, based on what you actually need.

Real experience

In my full-time work as a senior engineer, I've led backend and cloud infrastructure for production systems serving millions of users — including a full migration to Go microservices focused on performance and scalability. That's the engineering discipline I bring even to smaller applications: built to hold up under growth, not just to work on day one.

A concrete, public example: I built and am director of Mar-Alto, the official platform for Mar-Alto (Círculo Cultural da Nazaré, a cultural association in Portugal): QR ticketing, voucher reservations, a loyalty system and public voting, with real payments and real traffic peaks. Live at mar-alto.pt.

Ticketing with real payments (MB Way/Multibanco), loyalty points and voting — data that changes with every visitor: what needs to be an application.

Integrations

Many businesses lose time copying data by hand from one system to another — from invoicing to a spreadsheet, from a form to a CRM, from a payment provider to an internal record.

How I can help

If you already use several tools (invoicing, payments, bookings, CRM) that don't talk to each other, I'll connect them so you stop bridging them by hand every day.

What I deliver

  • Mapping the current manual process, step by step
  • Choosing the right integrations for your case — no extra tooling
  • Implementation with tests, so critical processes (like payments) don't break
  • Simple documentation of what's connected and how to maintain it
  • AI automation when it makes sense for the case, always with human review where mistakes are costly — any AI subscription costs are the client's

This list is what I typically deliver — it's not a fixed package. The exact scope of your project gets aligned in the first conversation, based on what you actually need.

Real experience

This is my day-to-day as a senior engineer: I led the Integrations team at an international scale-up, responsible for the APIs connecting thousands of partners to millions of users — an internal platform that has processed over 15,000 partners and millions of bookings, with a 15% gain in acceptance rate. I can't go into specifics about past employers here, but it's that same discipline for serious integrations I bring into smaller projects.

A concrete, public example: on Mar-Alto I integrated MB Way and Multibanco payments (IfThenPay) with the ticketing and reservations system, live at mar-alto.pt.

How I work

  1. Conversation

You tell me what you need. 30 minutes, no commitment, to align on requirements and make clear from the start what is included.

  2. Proposal

You get a clear scope, a realistic timeline and a fixed price — before we start.

  3. Build, with updates

You see progress throughout the project, not just at the end.

  4. Delivery and support

The code and domain are yours. After delivery, I stay available.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a website cost?

Every project is different. In an initial conversation I first listen to what you need — only after that do I send a fixed quote with what's included, with no pressure to decide on the spot. I go into more detail in How much does a website cost?

How long does it take?

A showcase site: 2–4 weeks. A custom application: it depends, I'll tell you before we start.

Do you work with clients outside Portugal?

Yes — I work remotely with clients anywhere, including the Leiria/Oeste region (Portugal). It's my preferred way of working.

Do I own the site?

Yes, the code and domain are yours.

Do you offer maintenance?

Yes, with a simple retainer or an hourly rate.

Is the "what I deliver" list always exactly that?

No, it's what I typically deliver, not a fixed package. The exact scope of your project gets defined in the first conversation, based on what you actually need.

Is this your full-time job?

No — I'm a full-time software engineer and I take on these projects independently, a few at a time. That's why the timelines I give are realistic and kept.

Want to talk about your project?
