The problem
Until I built this site, my professional profile and some of my work were scattered across LinkedIn and GitHub — I had no organic way of my own to share my portfolio online or grow my reach through search engines and LLMs.
As a software engineer who’s worked at several global companies, I believe a personal brand and online presence matter — not just for career and business opportunities, but also for learning and sharing knowledge.
The solution
I built a site in Portuguese and English (PT/EN) that combines a bit of everything: CV, portfolio, my services as well as a blog, all in one place, betting on local SEO in the Oeste region (namely Nazaré, Alcobaça and Leiria) and designed from the start to be discovered by search engines and LLMs.
Stack and decisions
I chose to build on the Astro framework, since the site is mostly static. That gives high performance, which also helps with SEO.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, using Turnstile for spam protection without a CAPTCHA, and Cloudflare Email for sending email via the form.
All the site’s content is written in Markdown, and all the code is testable with unit and e2e tests. Built with TypeScript in strict mode.
